LittlePDF vs LightPDF
LightPDF sells AI credits as the unit of account, and it sells a lot of AI: watermark removal from PDFs and images, PDF generation from a prompt, presentation and mind map generation, and translation across more than 20 languages, on one payment that covers macOS, Windows, Web, Android, and iOS. It is a broad, credit-metered product. The pricing is where it gets slippery. The monthly plan is $19.99, nearly three times ours, and the credits it grants expire after a month. The annual plan is $49.99, which works out at $4.17 a month and genuinely undercuts our annual rate. Both of those are true at once, and a comparison page that only told you the first one would be selling you something.

Our verdict
Pick LittlePDF if you pay monthly, where $6.99 against $19.99 is not close, or if you want half the toolkit to run without uploading anything. Pick LightPDF if you prepay a year, where its $49.99 beats our $59.88, or if you need watermark removal, mind maps, or presentation generation, none of which we have.

Where these numbers come from
Every figure above, with the page it was read on and the day it was read. Where we could not read a price on the vendor's own property, we say so instead of printing it as though we had.
- LightPDF at $19.99 monthly, $49.99 annually, and $109.99 perpetualVerified
- lightpdf.com/pricing. The page marks monthly as 34 percent off a $29.99 list, annual as 45 percent off $89.99 with a 3-day free trial before the charge, and perpetual as down from $299.99. It also states a 30-day money back guarantee. Read .
- 1,000 AI credits a month on monthly billing, valid for one monthVerified
- The same pricing page, which states the credit grant and its validity period on the monthly tier. Read .Third-party reporting adds that the perpetual licence carries 40,000 credits once, permanently valid, and that team pricing runs $143.98 annual for 2 users or $287.98 perpetual. We could not confirm those on LightPDF's own page, so treat them as reported.
- LightPDF's annual plan is cheaper than oursVerified
- Arithmetic on both published prices: $49.99 a year is $4.17 a month, and our annual plan is $4.99 a month, or $59.88 for the year. Read .We are not going to bury this. On a prepaid year LightPDF costs about $10 less than we do. Our case against them is the monthly rate, the credit expiry, and the 18 tools that never upload, not the annual sticker price.

- The PRICING constant in our own source, which is what the pricing page renders and what Stripe charges. The annual plan bills $59.88 once a year. Read .
Why Teams Leave LightPDF
A third of the price, month to month
LightPDF's monthly plan is $19.99. LittlePDF Pro is $6.99. If you do not want to prepay a year for a tool you might use twice, that gap is the whole argument, and it is the one place where the comparison is not close.
Credits that reset instead of expiring
LightPDF grants 1,000 AI credits with one month of validity on the monthly plan, so whatever you do not spend is lost at the reset. LittlePDF gives a daily pool, 500 credits free and 5,000 on Pro, which refills every day. Neither model is generous forever, but ours does not punish an idle fortnight.
Half the work never leaves your machine
Every LightPDF tool runs on their servers, because that is how the product is built. LittlePDF runs merge, split, compress, rotate, watermark, sign, redact, protect, and ten more in the browser, and our redact tool destroys the covered content rather than drawing a rectangle over it.
The Real Differences
LightPDF is $19.99 a month on monthly billing. LittlePDF Pro is $6.99 a month, about a third of that, for a toolkit that covers the same everyday jobs.
LightPDF's AI credits expire at the end of the month on the monthly plan, so unused capacity is simply gone. LittlePDF resets a daily allowance instead, which means a quiet week costs you nothing and a busy day is not borrowed from next month.
LightPDF's headline prices are permanent discounts off a list price nobody appears to pay, at 34 percent off monthly and 45 percent off annual. LittlePDF publishes one price with no strike-through beside it.
LightPDF uploads every file, because every tool is a server tool. LittlePDF runs 18 of its 36 tools in your browser, so merge, split, compress, sign, and redact never leave your device.
When LightPDF is the better pick
No tool wins every case. Here is where LightPDF is the honest, better choice.
- You prepay a year. LightPDF's $49.99 annual plan is about $10 cheaper than our $59.88, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.
- You want a perpetual licence. LightPDF sells one at $109.99; LittlePDF is subscription only.
- You need watermark removal from PDFs or images, presentation generation, or mind map generation. We have none of the three.
- You want desktop and mobile apps on one payment. LightPDF covers macOS, Windows, Web, Android, and iOS; LittlePDF is web-first with a CLI and an MCP server instead.
- You translate into a long tail of languages. LightPDF advertises more than 20; our translate tool covers 16.
